Wedding Photography: Cantley House Woking

In april I was in woking at the wonderful Cantley house, A lovely secluded venue with some great gardens and indoor space, Who will also cater for marquee weddings. I cannot recommend this venue enough, The day went smoothly and the wedding planners were excellent and their efforts were amazing.

In this post will be a list of suppliers who were present on the day too, and they were all great, especially the Pro Slot racing (giant scalectrix) which kept everyone entertained.

The Brides Arivval was in this wonderfull 1930’s badsworth from, As you can see it looked great on the day,

Flowers for the day were equally stunning and well put together, From

Next up here was the bride coming down the isle, these were among some of my favourites of the day,

I think the Expressions in the image, really capture what i love about wedding photography

CantleyHouseWokingwedding-10The Signing of the Register, This was the Posed shot so don’t worry i wasn’t shooting what i wasn’t meant to, the registrar’s have this ”signing” one, complete with fake names so it looks great

both of the above images were while we were shooting in the grounds, while they are posed in some way, the natural expressions and laughter are great and again moments that I love to capture

This was great Fun! and Yes I had to try it, Who wouldn’t. Provided by Proslot Racing,

Then onto the final part of the night, the first Dance, Beats Working were great at providing the music for the night

Dorset wedding photography: winter west bay wedding

A little while ago this one now. Back in november i shot a wedding in west bay dorset. The venue being the haddon house hotel. A lovely place to stay!

The weather was a bit sour! Big 40mph sw winds and driving rain made outdoor pictures difficult to say the least. Group shots done inside with use of the hotels christmas decorations. We then braved the outdoors some pictures around west bay in the dark. Shooting on the side of the harbour with the rain and wind was a challenge but we did it! Some lovely images. We then shot in the arcade and the launderette! Yes thats right.. we were passing and the door was open so rude not too!

So here are a few pictures from the day

So that was the last one of 2015! First wedding of 2016 is coming up this weekend. So look out for some more nighttime images from that one too

Thanks for reading

Somerset Wedding Photography

Hello me again,

This is going back to the 31st of October this year. I shot a wedding in Taunton in Somerset. Church and reception being on the grounds of Taunton School, a private school with some amazing grounds!

With bridal prep at a local hotel, the bride arrived on a horse drawn carrige. The church its self was incredibly dark, with the obvious no flash rule it made life tricker than it could have been. really had to push the cameras to the limit on the ISO speed, with the 1ds having to be maxed out at 3200.  This still only gave me a speed of 1/25th at best at F/4. So to those who know you’ll see just how dark it was. Still some amazing shots of course, the inside was stunning!

And heres a few images of the rest of the day.

Thanks for Looking

Dorset Wedding Photography: Hannah & Chris

Hi all,

This was a wedding shot back in September of this year. A Really fantastic couple who both like the camera. Which is always a Bonus!

I won’t bore you with to many words for this one, But it was a wedding on Portland again, with the church on Easton Square being where the ceremony took place. This is a really lovely church, big very bright and built from portland stone which with its light colours makes for great images.

This last picture was great, We went up to portland bill for the pictures of hannah and chris. And unknown to us it was national speak like a pirate day!  So these rather friendly pirates from the Portland Bill visitors centre came and did some pictures with us

Dorset Wedding Photography: A Couple from over t’ Pond

The day started with the preparations in a lovely country house, just next to the moreton walled gardens.

Next up was a couple of pictures with the groomsmen at the Black Dog in Broadmayne, for their pre wedding beer. A fantastic little country pub. Then onto the church just up the road.

A lovely church, And Looks great in Mono with that Sky! (perhaps one to revisit with the landscape kit this winter), Great service with some lovely moments.

Then the final stop of the day for me which was the Corn exchange in Dorchester, oddly again a fantastic venue. And the outside is great for some striking portraits too.

Dorset wedding photography

So it’s been a massively long time since my last post. Mainly a long but busy winter away from the camera.  Mainly with cars… current hack being a saab 9000 with plenty of rust.

But onto the proper stuff.  The first wedding of the season was at the end of April for me. The venue a lovley country location. Athelhampton house just outside of Dorchester.

The weather forcast was not amazing. The day started off with some great sunshine  and continued  until the group photos after the ceremony. Where the drizzle came in.

Not letting the weather get the best we carried on with the shoot around  the grounds and inside  the house.

We got a great variety  of shots

I was a big fan of this shot outside the main house. Processed  with a lr plug in and some added vignette  adds a real touch of atmosphere  to the image

A fun shot walking down through a tree arch way

Once the rain started that was it and it didn’t stop until the day after. But with such a stunning  house inside we had some great images. (Will share these another day)

Only one mishap on the day. And that was the thread stripped on the baseplate on the 1ds.. which managed  to survive  a 4ft fall onto solid concrete. I swear the thing is so solid it did more damage  to the flooring.

None the less it still works.. but I have bought a 5dmkii  as a precautionary  measure  and a well timed upgrade

Next wedding  is this Saturday
